## What It Is

A two-in-one tool. It scores a single face photo against ISO/IEC 29794-5 (OFIQ), the international face-image-quality standard, and separately compares two face photos to say whether they are the same person. Both run on the same underlying engine (SCRFD face detection + ArcFace embeddings, with a native — not mocked — OFIQ quality backend) used in Axon's production identity platforms, not a simplified demo model.

## Workflow

1. **Upload or sample** — provide one photo for a quality check, or two for a match comparison; built-in sample photos are available and do not count against the daily limit.
2. **Quality assessment** — OFIQ scores the image against ISO/IEC 29794-5 measures (sharpness, lighting, background uniformity, pose, expression neutrality, eyes open, mouth closed, head size and more) and returns an accept/review/reject outcome per photo.
3. **Match comparison** — for two photos, the engine reports a Match Level (ML 1–7), each level naming a false-match rate (from roughly 1-in-100 up to 1-in-500,000).
4. **Result** — plain-language verdicts and specific findings, so a visitor knows not just pass/fail but *why*.

## Core Capabilities

- ISO/IEC 29794-5 (OFIQ) face image quality assessment, native engine (not a mock/placeholder backend)
- 1:1 face match comparison with a Match Level (ML 1–7) / false-match-rate presentation, not a bare, easily-misread similarity number
- Per-photo quality breakdown across the individual OFIQ measures, not just a single number
- Nothing stored: photos are processed in memory and discarded once the result is returned
- Free, no account or API key required; a small daily run limit per device, with unlimited sample photos

## What It Does Not Replace
